four five weeks we are down to the big reveal…to be honest I feel a bit cheesy doing this, but here the before/after pictures.
Is the space perfect? NO, but that wasn’t the point. Rooms don’t have to be perfect, they have to be usable, so while I could have extended the project out by staining the ceiling beams or holding off until I got some better carpet, I opted to just get it setup instead.
The better questions are: do I use the room and do I like the space? The answer to both questions is: yes. I have to say it is nice to have a space of my own to get away and just read/write or even think. From that point of view it was worth every
penny nickel and minute I spent.
In my opinion, spaces are never really done, they just pause in development. In this case I’m happy to pause here and just use the space. So the other big question for everyone is likely, ok, but how much did you sink into this. Money wise I spent $597.00 and the majority of that went into the bookshelves. As to time, I likely spent much more time planning that I ever did doing this project. I would guess perhaps 10 hours or so of actual labour to get it to this point.
