Wayne,

Well that's one point. According to the information I got the husband loves his job while the wife only tolerates her job. Hence why she is looking to stay home.

FP,

Hey, I just point out the facts. If your over 35 and you want kids you should start sooner than later. Debating the money issue for a few years doesn't help anything.

Good point that some people just start later. I'm a bit of freak I met my wife when I was 18 and was married by 22.

Hilarious.

I just want to point out that while it's great not to be too old when having kids - some couples get together later in life. I started dating my wife when I was 35 and was 37 when the first child was born - and she's a bit old than I.

Ooh too many numbers for me to follow. But yeah, between her higher salary and planning on "if the husband has a good year" I don't understand why they're not planning on him staying at home, if anyone must.

Since the wife it the higher income earner, the husband should stay at home and the wife work after maternity benefits end. that is if the want one parent to stay at home.

Also, you will very likely cut your travel expenses down quite a bit once you have a kid.
