		<description>I believe the inclusion of your personal home in your net worth is flawed.  It is an asset, but very different from your actual investments.  You need a place to live, so you can only recover a portion of the equity in your personal home.  You don&#039;t need an RRSP, so you can sell all of the assets within to fund your retirement.  Perhaps only a portion of our home equity should be included in net worth.</description>

Long time reader of your blog.... I also am aiming for the big R at 45 :) Hopefully move to Canada when i do as well!

Don&#039;t be hard on yourself about your 2008 goals, the loss is not down to you and it is something that will almost certainly recover and blow away a yearly target in the future. I don&#039;t know what you have done in terms of investments, maybe you could have played the game harder but the thing to do is to sit it out and watch it grow as things recover. 

I&#039;m loving the economic downturn, its allowing me to purchase unit trusts etc and an ever decreasing value, i&#039;ll watch them when they come back up the other end and make me a nice profit :)</description>
