I love my family. I mean LOVE. My sister in law yesterday stopped by with a gift for our new baby and $566 retail cost in free clothes for my wife and I. It cost my sister in law a whole $0.16 for the huge bag of clothes she brought for us.
You see there is a little know side of retail referred to various names, but in the end it is all just dead stock. Clothes that are out of season and just won’t sell on the clearance section. For the store they just take up space, so the staff are allowed to pick out anything they like and buy it for a penny per item at the store my sister in law recently left. So my sister in law prior to leaving her job went through the boxes at her store and picked up anything she thought we might like.
In the end we got the following for free:
- Two long sleeve pull overs
- One fall/early winter coat for my wife
- One spring/fall coat for me
- Four t-shirts for me
- Seven long sleeve shirts for me
Of which I don’t like three shirts which would cost $109.97 retail. So I’m going to pass along some of my good fortune and see if any of my family in town wants the shirts.
So if you know anyone in retail it might be useful to ask what the policy is at their store. The might just be able to give you a huge load of dirt cheap stuff. After all on sale is good, clearance is better but free is the best price.
