We increased our mortgage payments again at the start of the year. Our payments are just over double what they were when we purchased our house 4 years ago now. This practice seems to make the most sense for us because if we had to make the extra payments each month on our own, it probably wouldn't happen. We need to make it automatic. Good for you for making the lump sum payment instead of blowing it on a 50" plasma. I'd be tempted. :) Congrats!
